Hello friends! We are BACK! I know, you probably didn't know we left. But we did! We left on a jet plane, and returned very much the same way except on the way back we were on the right side of the plane rather than the left. But that's not the important part. The important part is...
DISNEYLAND!!
We spent a week visiting the Happiest Place on Earth--just the two of us (and, I'm sure you could argue, thousands of our 'closest' friends). The trip was a mix of Second Honeymoon, Happy Birthday, and Just Because. And we have the Disney buttons to prove we were celebrating it all.
The trip was magical--which is only right. We did the 4-day Hopper Pass and visited both parks. We rode everything we wanted to multiple times--even Dumbo! We ate ourselves silly on our favorite Disney treats--churros, pretzels (in all their varieties), soft serve (Dole Whip!), corn dogs, soup bowls, and even my new favorite: The Matterhorn Macaroon!
Really, everything was great. I don't know if either of us could narrow it down to ONE favorite thing. The best thing was being together and away from everything else--work, Internet, phones. AWESOME.
Still, its Disney so a few highlights:
- Tuesday morning we were first in line at Gate #11. Once the park opened, we were first into Tomorrowland AND first to ride Space Mountain!
That would be the Disney gate behind us. Woot!
- We lunched at Blue Bayou one day. It was my only request for my birthday this year. The food was yummy and the ambiance (which is REALLY what you're paying for) was lovely and magical. The gumbo was delicious.
- We at least made it down the big hill on Splash Mountain before they shut the ride down. We were "rescued" by cast members and had to walk off through the final River boat scene AND through ugly backstage areas. Super cool AND they gave us a Fast Pass for any ride at the park!
- We continually improved on our goal of scoring big on Buzz Lightyear's Astroblaster. The key, it turns out, is simple. You aim.
- Matterhorn Macaroon. I can't emphasize this enough...
The Matterhorn Macaroon in all its glory!
- On two different mornings we got to ride our first ride again--right in a row! Without getting off!--because nobody else was in line. The first time it was Splash Mountain. The second time was the Astro Orbiter. SaWeeet!
- Captain EO is just...amazing. "Hooter!" has become a catch phrase around our house.
- Tower of Terror is still the best ride at DCA, but Toy Story Mania is a very close second.
- World of Color was totally awesome and totally worth standing in one GREAT viewing spot for 45 minutes.
We loved World of Color--totally worth the wait!
- We got "Happily Ever After" buttons at City Hall. And later in the day another cast member wanted more details. We told her we were celebrating our recent marriage and our birthdays and she showered us with "I'm Celebrating," "Just Married," and "Happy Birthday" buttons. Awesome.
- We both reveled in some Disney Firsts--Ariel's Undersea Adventure, Finding Nemo's submarines, and Turtle Talk with Crush (a total favorite now!! Not to be missed!!)
- The fireworks were fun and we finished the whole Disney experience with Fantasmic! Can't get more magical than that, can you?
And, please, have a Magical Day!
Looking ready--and super awesome!--for the new Star Tours!
Mr. C playin' it silly at Mickey's House
With the Big Cheese himself!
What can we say--we're dog people. Love Pluto!
Toy Story Mania is one of the best! And don't you just love all our buttons?!
Look who we found at Disney! UTAH friends!
Totally drenched and waiting to be "rescued" on Splash Mountain. So funny!
We love Disney! Can't wait to go back!

Oh man. All I want to do is go do fun things ALL the time. And THIS is on my list.
